Although early learning and childcare is an essential service, government funding has failed to keep pace, leaving families out of pocket with expenses and creating unequal access to high-quality care.

While most of us can agree that 2020 was a nightmare, what can also be said is that it was a year we learnt a lot. Like the confirmation that panic buying is real and that sometimes you need to come up with creative alternatives to toilet paper.  

Arguably though one of the most significant learnings that came from the pandemic was something positive: the benefit of affordable early learning and childcare for parents, children and the economy alike.
