The Woman Behind Logan’s New Flower Market

The love of flowers is ingrained deep within local mother, Milly Christensen. As a 4th generation flower family descendant, it is in her blood. Taught by her parents and grandparents – flower growers and marketers – she learnt on the job, gathering a life time of industry experience. Developing her skills over the years to become a gifted florist in her own right.

Milly’s passion for flowers began at a young age.

Ever since her mother, Florida brought her along to help at the family’s two flower stands; located in the Springwood markets and in the Myer Centre. She has passed this love of flowers onto her children, who now also work for the family business.

Milly met and married Nicki Christensen, a person with a flower family legacy of his own. Since then, they have carried on their family legacies; whilst expanding and moulding it to make it their own – creating FLOWERHUB, an online flower market where people can shop 24hrs a day and Southside Flower Market. Their successful partnership is due to their ability to work well together; complementing each other’s strengths.

“Milly is the hard-working doer of the partnership while I am the strategist and entrepreneur” stated Nicki.

Their most recent business collaboration is the Southside Flower Markets located in Slacks Creek. An in-person market shopping experience for tactile shoppers; allowing shoppers a chance to use more of their senses to experience the flowers by sight, touch and smell.

“Now that we have opened the Southside Flower Market right here in Slacks Creek. People can save up to an hour of travel on a return trip for people wanting to shop at a Flower Market. Now they can pull straight in off the M1, shop the flowers and get going again and not be stuck in horrendous crosstown traffic” commented Milly. “Flowers, plants and floral accessories are what we are all about here at Southside Flower Market.”

So, come down and visit Milly, Nikki and the team at the Southside Flower Market.

Immerse yourself in the beautiful colours and scents of the fresh flowers on display, you won’t be disappointed.
