Local Artist Clare Newey hosts First Art Exhibition

‘From the Sea to the Hill’ is Clare Newey’s first art exhibition where attendees can purchase affordable artworks which are inspired by Gold Coast beaches and Daisy Hill Conservation Park environments.

Connecting to and adapting to changing environments is the theme explored in the exhibition.

Types of artworks include Lino prints (framed and unframed), acrylic and watercolour paint, natural objects such as stones, sticks, leaves and flowers coated in resin on canvas and timber mounting board. The style of the artwork is semi-abstract with bold lines and natural textures.

Clare Newey is a Brisbane born multimedia artist residing in Daisy Hill with her husband, son and Dalmatian.

From 2006 to 2020, Clare worked in government in the administration field and was involved in transport services, community venues and major rail infrastructure projects.

This experience sparked Clare’s interest in community enhancement and has prompted her to explore the artistic industry and start Clare Newey Art Designs Instagram and Facebook pages in September 2020.

Not long after starting her social media art pages, Clare was commissioned to create an artwork by the Daisy Hill Squash and Racquet Club and given the opportunity to present an art exhibition.
