Arts in the Park Held in Logan

On Saturday 19th June, the Logan Art Gallery hosted Arts in the Park, an event that celebrated art in the Logan community.

People participating in the art activities.

Holding demonstrations on the day was the Logan Artist Association, the Logan West Community ArtShare Alliance and the Logan Art Gallery. People were invited to participate in the numerous activities on offer including making their own bath salts, create handmade cards, mould clay figurines and traditional weaving.

People were entertained through the afternoon by the harmonies from the Freedom Train and Mixed Beans choirs as well as the Mundy-Turner duo; who treated us to several renditions of popular songs including Crowded House’s Better be Home Soon. In addition, the gallery was open for people to look around at the featured exhibitions on display.

You couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky. I attended the event with my family and took part in the numerous art activities on offer. We made our own bath salts, constructed our wind charms and listening to music while enjoying a sausage sizzle, hot chips and a delicious hot chocolate.

It was a fantastic day and was fun for the whole family!
