“Deciding to become a mum is one of the best decisions I have made in life” states local mother and artist, Clare Newey.

In 2014, Daisy Hill residents Clare and her husband welcomed their beautiful son into their family. Since then, their lives have been filled with love, fun and laughter.

“One of my favourite memories is the day he was born” recalls Clare, “He was so alert, interested and curious. It has been so rewarding watching someone grow, adapt and develop.”

Now, 7 years on Clare is having to juggle looking after her energetic son as well as a blossoming career as a multimedia artist with another baby on the way.

“Art has always been a part of my life, ever since I can remember” recalls Clare, “I want to give him that same experience. I try to do projects that he’s interested in like the ninja house we made during the school holidays.”

To balance being a Mum and artist, she uses the time he’s at school to work on her art and developing her business. Currently, she is studying a certificate IV in bookkeeping and accounting to develop her art business for success.

“Creating art work is quite peaceful and gives me that extra bit of patience needed to raise a child. Everyone, especially Mums, need something to unwind, relax and recharge; which I’m sure every mother can relate to”.
